Isabella Nicotera was born in 1973 in Petilia P. (KR), Italy. She received her Degree in Chemistry, with full graduating marks and cum laude, from the University of Calabria, in 1998 and her Ph.D in "Chemical Science" in 2002 at the same University, working on the development and characterization of solid polymer electrolytes for the technology of the lithium batteries. She developed part of the PhD project at the Centre for Materials Research, School of Physical Sciences, University of Kent, Canterbury (UK). From 2003 to March 2008 she was a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Chemistry, University of Calabria. She was also, in 2005-2006, a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Department of Physics, in the “Solid State NMR” laboratory, Hunter College of CUNY, New York.
Since 2008 she is Researcher at the Faculty of Science of the University of Calabria.
Her research is aimed at the study of advanced materials for energy devices (lithium batteries, PEM fuel cells and hybrid supercapacitors), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, Ionic Conduction in Solids and structural characterization of surfactants systems by Rheology and NMR methods.
