In order to be admitted to the Master's degree in Health Biotechnology, students must be in possess of a Bachelor's degree in the area of Biotechnology (for Italian students: L-2 ex DM 270/04 or 1 former DM 509/99).
Access to the Master's degree will also be granted to those who have obtained a Bachelor's degree in other areas, or another qualification obtained in Italy or abroad, recognized as suitable on the basis of current regulations, provided they have basic knowledge in the disciplines listed below:

  1. mathematics, chemistry, physics and computer science;
  2. biological disciplines (physiology, biochemistry and molecular biology, microbiology and genetics);
  3. English language, especially with reference to disciplinary vocabulary.

A criterion for sufficient basic knowledge is the achievement of credits in the following areas or groups of areas:

  • Mathematics / Physics / Informatics: 10 ECTS credits
  • Chemistry: 10 ECTS credits
  • Physiology: 6 ECTS credits
  • Biochemistry and Molecular Biology: 15 ECTS credits
  • Genetics and Microbiology: 6 ECTS credits
  • Other Biology Areas excluding the previous ones: 6 ECTS credits
  • English language: knowledge at B2 level.

The adequacy of the individual preparation will be verified in accordance with procedures defined by the regulations of the Master's Degree Course.

The Course Regulation details the rules for assessment of the adequate language knowledge; students possessing the equivalent language certification may be exempted.
