Il Corso fornisce le contestualizzazioni e le conoscenze di base sugli eventi, le culture, le trasformazioni ed i temi di fondo che hanno caratterizzato la storia dei Secoli XIX e XX e degli anni più recenti. Si propone, perciò, di introdurre gli allievi alla storia dell’Età contemporanea, di cui alcune problematiche più particolari e rilevanti saranno approfondite con focus dedicati.
Al termine del Corso lo studente conoscerà i caratteri specifici della Storia contemporanea e, in particolare, delle trasformazioni sociali, politiche e culturali avvenute dall’inizio del XIX Secolo sino agli anni presenti. Ne comprenderà, perciò, le principali questioni e dinamiche, e sarà in grado di contestualizzare i fatti e gli eventi storici, mettendoli in correlazione con le altre discipline.
Il Corso sarà articolato in due parti: una parte generale ed una parte monografica. La Parte generale si snoderà (come si evince dal Programma dettagliato, fornito a parte) dall’entrata nell’Età contemporanea sino agli anni della globalizzazione. E si soffermerà, in particolare, sulle pandemie e sulla seconda guerra mondiale. La Parte monografica si soffermerà sulla storia e la didattica della Shoah, sull’internamento dei civili e le politiche e culture della memoria relative ai momenti più tragici ed ingombranti del passato recente italiano ed europeo.
Si prevedono lezioni frontali, esercitazioni, laboratori e studi di caso (con frequenza obbligatoria ed affrontati anche servendosi di strumenti innovativi e interattivi), formulati in modo da esaltare un apprendimento basato sulle competenze trasversali. Qualora, nel rispetto delle eventuali indicazioni fornite dall'Ateneo e dal Dipartimento, il Corso dovesse essere erogato a distanza o in formula mista, le lezioni si terranno in modalità sincrona in streaming nei tempi fissati dall'orario ufficiale.
La valutazione degli Allievi si basa su un Test telematico a risposte multiple, il cui superamento (che si avrà con almeno 17 risposte esatte su 30) consentirà all'allievo di accedere all’Esame orale tradizionale. Questo valuterà principalmente i seguenti parametri: a) La capacità linguistica e di espressione in relazione ai contenuti della disciplina studiata; b) La conoscenza/comprensione dei vari argomenti del Corso; c) La capacità di cogliere i nessi causali; di analizzare i concetti; di comparare i diversi argomenti; d) La capacità di discutere ed interpretare i materiali forniti dal docente. Si considera preparazione INSUFFICIENTE al superamento dell'esame quella dello studente che è: inappropriata quanto a conoscenza degli argomenti del programma; inadeguata linguisticamente; inadeguata quanto all’uso delle fonti e alla comprensione dei nessi che legano i vari argomenti. Si considera preparazione SUFFICIENTE al superamento dell'esame quella dello studente che dimostra una conoscenza essenziale della materia ed è in grado di discutere con linguaggio adeguato i temi affrontati dal Corso, mostrando di saperli – seppure in modo minimale – collocare nello spazio e nel tempo, e di aver compreso i nessi fondamentali che li legano. Si considera preparazione POSITIVA al superamento dell'esame quella dello studente che dimostra una buona conoscenza della materia, una buona capacità di sintesi ed è in grado di discutere con linguaggio corretto ed adeguato i temi affrontati nel Corso, mostrando di saperli appropriatamente collocare nello spazio e nel tempo, e di aver compreso i nessi fondamentali che li legano. Si considera preparazione ECCELLENTE al superamento dell'esame quella dello studente che dimostra assoluta padronanza della materia ed ottima capacità di sintesi; mostrando altresì di sapere applicare criticamente le categorie storiografiche e gli strumenti metodologici; nonché di sapere sviluppare collegamenti e raffronti tra gli argomenti con linguaggio originale, fluente ed appropriato.

The course gives the contextualizations and basic knowledges on events, cultures, transformations and main themes which characterized the history of XIX and XX Centuries, and of recent years also. The aim is to introduce the history of Contemporary Age to the students. Some of the most problematic and relevant topics will be deepened with dedicated focuses. Teaching code: 27001016
An adequate basic cultural preparation and a decent knowledge of geography and of the main geographical-historical maps are required to fully experience the Course.
The student will know, at the end of the Course, the specific traits of contemporary History and, in particular, the ones concerning social, political and cultural transformations which occurred from the beginning of the XIX Century to these years. The student will understand, therefore, the main questions and dynamics, and will be able to contextualize the facts and historical events, putting them in correlation with other disciplines.
The Course will be divided in two parts: a general one and a monographic one. The general part will take place (as it can be seen from detailed program, given aside) from the entrance in the contemporary Age until the globalization years. And it will focus, in particular, on pandemics and on Second World War. The monographic part will focus on history and education of Shoah, on civilian interment and the policies and cultures of memory related to the most tragic and heavy moments of the recent Italian and European past.
Frontal lessons, exercises, lab and study cases (with mandatory attendance and done with innovative and interactive instruments), formulated as to exalt a kind of learning based on transversal skills. Whenever, in the respect of the eventual indications given from the University and from the Department, the Course should be erogated in distance mode or in a mixed mode, lessons will be held in synchronous mode, streaming, in the schedule chosen by the official schedule.
Evaluation of Students is based on a telematic multiple-choice test, which, if passed (it will happen by having at least 17 out of 30 correct answers) will allow the student to access the traditional Oral Exam. In the Oral Exam, evaluation will be focused on the following patterns: a) linguistical and expressional skills related to the contents of the subject; b) knowledge/comprehension of various arguments of the Course; c) Ability to find causal links; to analyze concepts; to compare different arguments; d) Ability to discuss and interpret materials given by Teacher. The preparation of the student is considered INSUFFICIENT to the passing of the exam whenever it is: Inappropriate in knowledge of the arguments of the program; linguistically inadequate; Inadequate in the use of sources and in the comprehension of the links between different arguments. The preparation of the student is considered SUFFICIENT to the passing of the exam whenever it shows an essential knowledge of the subject, and he/she is able to discuss with an adequate language the main themes of the Course, showing to know them -even in a minimal way-, collocate them in time and space, and understand the links between them. The preparation of the student is considered POSITIVE to the passing of the exam whenever he/she shows a good knowledge of the subject, a good synthetic ability, and he’s able to discuss with a correct and adequate language the themes discussed in the Course, showing to know how to collocate them in time and space, and understand the links between them. The preparation the student is considered EXCELLENT to the passing of the exam whenever he/she shows absolute control of the subject and optimal ability of synthesis; showing also to know how to applicate critically the historiographical categories and the methodological instruments; Also to having developed links and comparisons between arguments with and original, fluent and appropriate language.
