The Degree Course in Pharmacy lasts five years and its theoretical and practical cycle of studies includes a six-month training period, in a pharmacy or in a hospital, before graduation. The graduate students in Pharmacy will be equipped with the scientific basis and practical and theoretical preparation necessary to practice the profession of pharmacist. They are also suitable to operate as drug and health product (medical-surgical district, sanitary products, cosmetics, dietetics, herbal medicinal, diagnostic and chemical clinical products) experts in the respective line of industrial activity. As achieving the specialist degree in pharmacy and its related qualifying exam the graduated may practice according to the law 85/432/ECC the profession of pharmacist and is authorized to practice the professional activites provided by the specialist degrees in Pharmacy and Industrial Pharmacy. The professional profile of the graduated in Pharmacy is identical to that of health care operator who within the circles of his/her multidisciplinary scientific and technological competences (chemical, biological, physiopathological, pharmaceutical, pharmacological, toxicological, legislative-deontological) forms an indispensable benchmark in medical-assistance activity aiding in the meantime the achievement of the aims established by the National Health Care System in order to face properly society’s mutable demands in Health Care.
The new didactics organization in Pharmacy finds its point qualifying in formative "credits". The enrolled undergraduate may choose between two training curricula: Biopathological – Biochemical Clinical, both with the earning total of 300 formative credits. The duration of the course is 5 years and during each one it provides professional training at a local community pharmacy or hospital pharmacy. The training period is calculated in two trimesters distributed during the fourth and fifth year course. The guide-lines have been set up since the Academic Year 2002/2003. These guide-lines differentiate from each other at the beginning of the third year of each course of the new didactic system. To obtain the Degree each student must pass the final exam which consists in the discussion of a compilation or experimental thesis. After passing the graduation exam the student obtains the title of Doctor in Pharmacy unrelated to which training curriculum chosen.

Evaluation requirements and exams
Credits are earned after an exam that takes place at the end of each course. The score can range from a minimum of 18 (sufficient) to a maximum of 30 (excellent).
Attendance to courses
Course attendance, laboratory or field activities are mandatory. Students without a minimum number of attendance hours must repeat the course.
Degree examination
Students must earn 300 credits in order to be admitted for the final degree examination. The degree exam is a dissertation of a short examination paper in which the student develops topics concerning the degree course. The examination paper is developed with the aid of a faculty teacher. An appointed commission evaluates the examination paper and grants a maximum of 11 points as bonus, should the evaluation be positive. All this is added to the final mark which is expressed on a 110/110 basis.
